As you all know I have been off the bike for a while Well 8 Weeks & in 4 Weeks
I am doing the Great Manchester Cycle, its 54 Miles and you MUST average at least 18 Mph or risk being pulled off course. Now, if we look at my Manchester to Blackpool average, I was quicker, over a longer distance and with more climbing BUT
What I can tell you now, is 8 weeks ago I underwent MAJOR surgery !!!! that means for 8 weeks I have been off the bike, I have lost fitness and lost my edge, normally I wouldn’t be that worried BUT the ride is just 4 weeks away and I am still in the recovery phase, so I have to get my fitness back , get my speed back, get my edge back AND recover from what has been a difficult time, the one good thing is I have not gained any weight.
**Please note, at this stage I am unable to divulge anything further from “Major Surgery”, of course, once I can, you guys will be the first to hear but please respect that I cant talk about the details YET.**
So I am asking you guys to sponsor me, it is again for the Christie Hospital who do great work relating to cancer treatment and cures and of course your sponsorship will ensure that I give my 150% on the day, not wanting to let you down, or the people down who are relying on our efforts, while helping out those who are suffering from cancer and are less fortunate than you and I…PLEASE GIVE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN GUYS, You have made me proud with your donations in the past and I’ll make you proud with my performance on the day.

Here I am on the comeback trail once again.

I think my assumptions where right. I hope all has gone well. I myself have been off the bike since November 12th, snapped achilles followed by pulmanary embolism at Christmas, I’m just about ready to get back on 2 wheels though with extreme caution as I am on Warfarin till end of July. i have a good stone and a half to shift and alot of strength, fitness and stamina to build up again (having gone from 100 plus miles aweek to nothing). But following you and your story makes my challenges a drop in the ocean. Keep up the brilliant work of inspiring others and be carefull mate.
Thanks for the donation man and wow it sounds like you are having a rough time
